Smoke Alarm

Just half an hour ago, the smoke alarm went off.
Very, very loud. It caught us all by surprise.

So yeah we just going about cooking the dinner (which wasn't a disaster... but could have been)
And then BAM!
The alarm goes off. Mum doesn't have the fan on at the stove. Muuuuuum!
I ran (super ninja and all) to put on the fan.. raced to the backyard, let Dad in and kept the door open.
Dad raced about the house to open all the windows and doors.

We all had our hands to our ears (except Mum who was cooking, and Cameron, who was probably completely oblivious to the whole thing... he was reading)
And then Lachlan. Lachlan, Lachlan, Lachlan, what o what shall we do with you? He starts doing this small jumping/singing/acting really crazy/dancing thing. Great timing.

And then... it... sto...pp...
No. It didn't stop. It got louder.
But hey, it gets better.
By this time Dad, Lachlan, and I were laughing hysterically. Mum then put the frying pan under the water (several times) which made more steam/smoke come off it, giving the alarm more reason to shriek. Like a mini volcano.

So we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally it stopped.
It was quite fantastic I must say.
Pretty rockin' stuff.

Oh well. Just wanted to share that with you (what? my two readers...) Nah, you guys are awesome.
It was good fun though.

  1. Hi Lauren,
looking for some Cat Empire lyrics I came across your blog, noticed you're a Christian, too, did a quick scroll down and somehow thought it was funny you had abandoned the blog idea already after three posts. With the one who's not a recipe actually being funny, why not pick it up and have a go at it again?
    Peace,
